The American Border Story Calls for Accountability After Illegal Immigrant Kills Four Oklahoma Young Adults in Wrong-Way DUI Crash

WASHINGTON, DC –  The American Border Story (TABS) today released the following statement mourning the tragic loss of four young Oklahomans killed in a wrong-way crash caused by an illegal immigrant and demanding accountability for the failed immigration policies that continue to endanger American communities:

“Over the weekend, illegal immigrant Michael Rosario-Cruz crashed head-on into a vehicle carrying four young adults. According to reports, Rosario-Cruz was drunk when he drove the wrong way on Interstate 40 and caused a collision and resulting fire that killed all four victims at the scene. Open containers of alcohol were found in his vehicle.

“Kiercey Hickson, Quincy Jones, Haleigh Salazar, and Brad Palmer are remembered by family, friends, teachers, and classmates as bright young people with promising futures ahead of them. Several were recent graduates of El Reno High School and were pursuing college, careers, and dreams that were stolen in an instant.

“Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged a detainer request against Rosario-Cruz following his arrest on multiple charges, including four counts of second-degree murder, DUI causing great bodily injury, firearm-related offenses, and driving the wrong way on a one-way roadway.

“These young men and women should still be alive. Their families should not have to suffer because politicians in Washington failed to do their jobs. Americans deserve secure borders, strong immigration enforcement, and leaders willing to put the safety of citizens first.”

Angel Mom Karla Carlock, an Oklahoma resident who lost her daughter to fentanyl poisoning due to negligent border policies, issued the following statement:

“My heart is absolutely broken for the families of the four young people killed after an alleged drunk driver went the wrong way on I-40 and caused this devastating crash. As a mother who has had to bury her own child, I know the unbearable ache these families are now facing, and my heart grieves alongside them. Knowing the driver has since been arrested and reportedly detained by ICE does not lessen the unimaginable loss of these precious young lives. I am praying deeply for every family and loved one affected by this tragedy.”
