WASHINGTON, DC –  Today, The American Border Story (TABS) issued the following statement after two young boys in were killed in a deadly crash caused by an intoxicated illegal immigrant driving without a license in Spartanburg County, South Carolina:

“An illegal alien named Eri Otoniel Roblero-Perez has been charged with two counts of felony DUI resulting in death after his vehicle veered off the roadway and struck and killed two young children riding bicycles on a sidewalk.

“Authorities reported that Roblero-Perez showed clear signs of intoxication at the scene and was unable to complete a field sobriety test. He is currently being held without bond, and an immigration detainer has been placed on him.

“This heartbreaking tragedy is a reminder that the previous administration’s failure to enforce immigration laws has real and irreversible consequences. President Trump is working tirelessly to undo the damage caused by Joe Biden, but our work is not done. We must support ICE and DHS as they work to identify individuals who are here unlawfully and ensure they are removed from the country before more innocent Americans are killed.

“Our hearts are with the families of Dereon James Robins and Mikhail-Lee Smith while they grieve their unimaginable loss. Honoring their memory means taking meaningful action to ensure tragedies like this do not happen again.”
