WASHINGTON, DC – Today, The American Border Story (TABS) issued the following statement urging California lawmakers to oppose Assembly Bill No. 2600, which would use taxpayer funds to provide legal representation for illegal aliens:
“Earlier this year, Democrat Assemblymember Mia Bonta introduced a bill in the California Assembly that would use taxpayer funds to provide legal representation for illegal immigrants in California. This bill actively incentivizes illegal immigration and directly undermines the progress achieved by the Trump administration since the President’s second inauguration.
“President Donald Trump received a clear mandate from the American people and they continue to strongly support his immigration policies. Despite this, Democrat politicians persist in promoting dangerous policies that signal to foreign nationals that if they break our laws and enter the country illegally, they will not only avoid consequences but also receive taxpayer-funded legal assistance to obstruct lawful deportation.
“This legislation represents a grave affront to Angel Families across the country who have suffered immeasurable loss at the hands of foreign criminals who had no legal right to be in this country, yet continue to benefit from policies supported by Democrat politicians.
“TABS urges the California Assembly to reject this bill in committee and prevent it from advancing any further in the legislative process.”
