WASHINGTON, DC – Today, The American Border Story (TABS) issued the following statement after Air Force veteran Richard Williams died from injuries sustained in a violent subway attack in New York City. The suspect, a four-time deported illegal alien with a lengthy criminal record, has now been charged with murder:
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Richard Williams, a veteran who served our country and should have been safe in his own community. We extend our prayers to his family during this devastating time.
“His death was not only tragic, it was entirely preventable. The suspect is a serial criminal and four-time deported illegal alien who should never have been in this country, let alone free to carry out such a brutal attack. New York City leadership has been harboring illegal immigrants for far too long, and now a man who devoted his life and career to defending American freedom has died because his city failed to defend him.
“This case is a direct indictment of failed policies that allow dangerous individuals to repeatedly reenter our country and remain on our streets. Sanctuary policies and a refusal to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement have real, deadly consequences.
“President Trump has taken decisive action to restore law and order by empowering ICE and prioritizing the removal of criminal illegal aliens. His leadership is making communities safer, and it stands in stark contrast to the reckless, far-left policies that led to this senseless loss of life.
“Richard Williams should still be alive today. Leaders who continue to obstruct immigration enforcement have blood on their hands and must be held accountable.”
