WASHINGTON, DC – Today, The American Border Story (TABS) issued the following statement urging the United States Senate to pass the SAVE Act as it prepares to vote on the legislation this week:
“The Senate now has a clear opportunity to protect the integrity of American elections.
“The SAVE Act is a simple, commonsense safeguard that requires proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections. Under Joe Biden’s failed leadership, millions of illegal aliens crossed our borders. As a result, it is more critical than ever before that Congress act to protect our elections from foreign interference and ensure those who entered our country illegally are not able to vote.
“Speaker Johnson and House Republicans took an important step earlier this year by passing this legislation. Now the Senate must finish the job and send the SAVE Act to President Trump’s desk.
“Americans overwhelmingly support basic election integrity measures like proof of citizenship and voter identification. These protections defend our national sovereignty and ensure that the voices of law-abiding American citizens are not diluted.
“Senators should stand with the American people and pass the SAVE Act immediately. Protecting our elections is not optional. It is essential to preserving our democracy.”
