WASHINGTON, DC – The American Border Story (TABS) today released the following statement condemning Democrats for defunding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), undermining American safety, and leaving the nation dangerously vulnerable to Islamist extremists and violent criminals:
“After the horrific attacks of September 11, 2001, the United States established the Department of Homeland Security with a clear and urgent mission: to protect American citizens from terrorism and violent radical extremists who seek to harm our homeland. That mission has never been more critical. Terrorist networks remain active. Sleeper cells and extremist sympathizers continue plotting, but Democrats have chosen to hamstring a vital agency dedicated to protecting us.
“For more than two weeks, Democrats have held DHS hostage in their relentless political war against President Trump and his allies, recklessly gambling with the safety of every American family. By defunding and obstructing DHS operations, they are stripping away the very defenses designed to prevent another catastrophic attack on U.S. soil.
“TABS is calling on all Democratic lawmakers to immediately pass appropriations to fund DHS. We firmly support President Trump, Secretary Kristi Noem, and the federal agents of DHS who work tirelessly to keep our country safe. Americans deserve a government that prioritizes their security, not partisan political games that leave our families exposed to violent extremism on our own soil.”
