Angel Families gathered in the Granada Hills under the banner “Their Lives Mattered Too.” The event, hosted by the California Hispanic Alliance, Back to Business California, and Angel Families of America, was both memorial and indictment; a night of clarity in a state governed by moral inversion.
Agnes Gibboney, founder of Angel Families of America, spoke about her son Ronald, murdered in 2002 by a gang member who had been deported and returned illegally. For more than twenty years she has fought a system that bends over backward for the criminal and turns its back on the citizen. I was proud to have directed TABS journalist Anthony Aguero’s powerful interview with Agnes, beautifully photographed by our talent D.P. Michael McNeil.
Kathy Hall told of her daughter, Hailey King, killed in 2016 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, when an illegal alien crashed into her car, dragging Hailey and her friend beneath the truck before fleeing. Kathy has carried that loss into every room that will listen, a living rebuke to the politicians who treat her daughter’s death as collateral damage.
Angie Morfin spoke about her 13-year-old son, shot and killed in California — another life erased by an offender who should never have been here. You will also get to see our interview with her very soon.
Also present were Paul Osokin, Jody Jones, Boni Driskill, and Anatoly Varfolomeev, each representing families still living with the cost of a political class that protects offenders while abandoning victims.
A handful of California-based ICE officers attended as guests; men of valor who continue their mission under the hostile watch of our cowardly governor Gavin Newsom, who has obstructed their work at every turn, publicly smeared them while sadistically forcing them expose their faces and identities amidst a record level of targeted hostility all while shielding violent offenders from deportation.
These agents now face not only political sabotage but real physical danger; only weeks ago, a sniper opened fire on an ICE facility in Dallas. The culture of contempt Newsom has cultivated toward law enforcement has consequences measurable in blood.
The evening opened in prayer from Bishop JC Mendez. David Hernandez and Jennifer Horn emceed the program, keeping the focus on the families and their testimony.
I attended and briefly spoke on behalf of The American Border Story, reasserting our mission to document and amplify these open borders-wrought humanitarian nightmares covered up by a complicit Democrat-media complex, and to permanently burn their harrowing imagery into the public consciousness.
