I guess I just always assumed that the elected officials were the adults in the room.
That they would do the right thing — follow the laws of the cities and nation they swore oaths to and stand up for the citizens that elected them. Basic stuff.
But those days seem to be behind us in cities like Chicago. It’s gotten so bad that I think it might have actually been better when the mob was in charge of the Windy City. Al Capone at least had rules. There was a certain level of respect involved. You broke the rules, you paid the price. You were made an offer you couldn’t refuse. Capiche?
This is not the case with the men who are now in charge.
Between illegal loving Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker and his partner-in-crime (and yes, I mean that literally) Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, there is nothing but disrespect for the rules. There are no consequences for breaking the law and all that remains is enough chaos to garner Gotham City comparisons. This past weekend alone, Chicago saw 22 shootings “in a three-day span, resulting in 29 victims and four murder cases.”
How many homicides will it take for this city to wake up?
Then we have the crazy attack last Saturday against CPB officers by 30-year-old Marimar Martinez and 21-year-old Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz who used their vehicles to “assault, impede and interfere with the work of federal agents.” The agents were on a mobile security detail in the Chicago neighborhood of Oak Lawn when “multiple civilian vehicles began to aggressively follow their vehicle and others driven by fellow CBP agents” and began “running red lights and stop signs, driving in the wrong lane, and driving the wrong way down one-way streets in order to pursue them.” When the law enforcement officers carrying out the law of the land are the ones hunted and pursued in an American city, it means we have problems.
They feel emboldened.
And why wouldn’t they? Between Pritzker, Johnson and all the other unhinged leftist elected officials in Illinois, any illegal immigrant criminal or advocate of one basically has a free license to act egregiously toward ICE, CPB, or any DHS official. They have been empowered to do it by years of sanctuary city policies, free government handouts, and rhetoric that paints any of these men and women in uniforms as fascists, nazis, or agents of tyranny.
As of Monday, Mayor Johnson went so far as to sign an executive order creating ‘ICE-free zones’ which, according to Johnson, is “an executive order aimed at reining in this out-of-control administration.” He explained that this means Chicago city property and unwilling private businesses “will no longer serve as staging grounds for these raids.”
This comes after Governor Pritzker filed a thus far unsuccessful lawsuit to block President Trump from deploying the National Guard in Illinois.
Despite all these attempts to prevent the administration from fulfilling the mandate voted on by the American people in the 2024 election, Operation Midway Blitz, as the Chicago crackdown of illegal immigrants has been named by DHS, has been successful.
Chicago has been federalized. Thanks to President Trump, 500 National Guard troops have arrived and the FBI has descended into the chaos and are slowly but surely cleaning up the mess that Democrats have created.
FBI Director Kash Patel has just announced that they have discovered that over 110,000 Chicago Residents are gang members — and not the “leave the gun, take the cannoli” kind.
DHS reported that, so far, ICE and CBP officers have arrested more than 1,000 illegal aliens — including “the worst of the worst pedophiles, child abusers, kidnappers, gang members, and armed robbers. We have also arrested multiple members of the gang Tren de Aragua, and illegal aliens with criminal histories that include drug trafficking, child rape, and murder, among other violent convictions.”
Patel explained on Tuesday that the FBI needed to “flex resources” to help DHS. He added in an interview to FOX News that “The environment here in Chicago needs a focused effort, not just on crushing violent crime, but also, removing the illegal aliens that are correlated to that violent crime. And that’s a result over years of failures in policies by the prior administration to allow so many illegal aliens and so much criminal activity to occur here in Chicago, in the state of Illinois.”
Why would any Governor or Mayor — or American, for that matter — not want this to happen? Why would they want to offer safe haven to pedophiles and child abusers? Why would they protect rapists and kidnappers? Why do they offer the privileges of American citizenry to criminals who are citizens of foreign nations? Why do they prefer gang members to law abiding citizens?
In the aftermath of horrific recent events such as the association of Charlie Kirk, it’s deeply concerning that these men would do anything less than immediately condemning violence of any kind against those in uniform.
Unfortunately only the opposite has occurred. It turns out that the Chicago police patrol chief refused to help or offer assistance as agents of Operation Midway Blitz were “rammed and surrounded by armed crowds.” In fact, as FOX News was able to reveal in the internal dispatch recordings, Chicago police officers were “ordered by their chief of patrol not to respond after Border Patrol agents called for help, saying they were boxed in and surrounded following a ramming incident outside the city, according to multiple federal and Chicago law enforcement sources.”
Whatever version of America that we live in where the “boys in blue” who swore to protect and serve are told to stand down and refuse to help other law enforcement officers in harm’s way is not one that I want to live in.
Things need to change. Not just in Chicago but in every Democrat sanctuary city where criminals have been given carte blanche control and are backed up by official channels.
The craziest irony of all is that, completely ignoring the fact that illegal immigrants have broken the law by entering our country illegally, Governor Pritzker had the audacity to claim that DHS has been “scaring law-abiding residents, violating due process rights” and that he “cannot allow them to rampage throughout our city with no checks or balances. Nobody is above the law. If we break the law, you should be held accountable. If Congress will not check this Administration, then Chicago will.”
This level of hypocrisy, double speak, and complete lunacy is beyond what one could think imaginable for the governor of any state in our country.
The law, dear Governor Pritzker, calls for deportation of illegal immigrants.
President Trump, Secretary Noem, and Director Patel are all doing the jobs we elected them to do, so why can’t you? Checks and balances can be found in multiple government agencies and an entire administration full of individuals who are acting out the will of the American people. The only people here who clearly need to be held accountable are you and Mayor Johnson for protecting illegal criminals over American citizens, encouraging violence against law enforcement officers, and giving unfettered resources and financial aid to these same illegals while the citizens of your city live in fear for their safety and wellbeing.
Until then, I wait with bated breath for the new number of arrests that have been made by the brave federal law enforcement officers who are taking care of your city for you and are making Chicago a safer place once more.
Revenge, as it turns out, is a dish best served not only cold, but with ICE.
